Visit the Brooklyn Flea

The Brooklyn Flea in Industry City has ample opportunity to make some great purchases! Set up between 10 am to 5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, Brooklyn Flea is one of the more popular shopping attractions in the city. It features hundreds of vendors of everything from art and jewelry to furniture, antiques, and clothing. This is a must-visit bazaar!

Catch a Broadway or Off-Broadway Matinee

A quintessential New York City Saturday afternoon activity to indulge in would of course be to visit the Theater District and purchase substantially discounted tickets to a Broadway or Off-Broadway show from one of two TKTS ticket discounter locations, in NYC. Here you can purchase steeply discounted tickets for a next day matinee or for a same day evening performance. Tickets, though generally at full price, can also be purchased directly at a theater’s box office. There are also several theaters that hold curbside seat lotteries at steeply discounted pricing for same evening performances, two hours before showtime!

Meander Along the High Line

The railway turned park is yet another excellent option for your Saturday activity needs! Opened in 2009, this urban park, set on an elevated rail line, extends along Chelsea and the Meatpacking District, and has plenty of excellent dining options, art, and other attractions to uncover along the way, at street level.

Free Live Music at BAMcafé

[30 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn, NY]

BAMcafé offers free concerts on Friday and Saturday nights, so head on over there for a live music experience. The genres range from pop to jazz and it’s important to show up a little early to get a seat, owing to its popularity!
